Offroad OC Pony Plush

This little guy has been done and sitting on my work bench for a few months now, but I couldn't post him since he was a gift for one of my troops who is leaving my section. He absolutely LOVES the color lime green...his jeep is this color, his coffee to-go cup is this color, he has sweaters this color...you get the picture. He also has a budding decal graphics business, whose icon is a gecko. He does NOT like ponies, but he loved my plushies so much when I took them to work, and he's worked so hard, that I thought he would like one as a farewell present. Plus, it has the bonus of being a rather embarrassing desk ornament as he gains rank.

Since he didn't have an OC (not a pony fan), I made him a quick recolor on Button Mash. I named him Offroad, after my troop's Jeep habits. The eyes are silver gradient, and I loved the result. They pick up some of the green of the fur, but aren't a hideous eye-burn. I'm going to keep that in mind for future work! I went for a brown and black hair scheme to try to keep the color clash to a minimum, as well as represent mud and tires. I gave one of his ears a notch as a momento of one of his adventures, and to give him some personality without going too overboard.

This is the fastest plushie I've made yet (3 days after work on other projects), and there are a few flaws I'm not happy with, but my troop didn't mind (I really should have adjusted the gecko cutie mark angle, and I accidentally ran his head gusset fur the wrong direction). This is a good reminder to myself to take my time!!
