Nightmare Moon Plushie WIP

After returning from NY ComicCon, I was lucky enough to work on this Nightmare Moon Plushie with my Mother in law. She's been sewing for over 25 yrs, so it was great to get advice on how to make my process better. We were only able to work the kinks out of the head shape (NMM and Celestia are different from Cadance) before she had to leave, but it was still a lot of fun. I also got advice on how to work out my Quilt Square, and we picked out the colors together.

Anyways, enough jabbering and on to the plushie! I modified my Alicorn pattern to be about an inch taller in the legs for a more graceful look, and slightly thicker in the midsection than Cadance; this is the form I'll use for NMM and Celestia. She's made from Minky with embroidered details, and the mane and tail are wired organza; I found a new way so that the wire isn't noticeable, and the tail is more sturdy.

She's still got a ways to go before she's done: wings need planned & sewn (will include two kinds of real feathers), finish detailing on head & secure the mane, and make all of her armor, which will stay removable. I can't wait to make the armor, myself; ponies in armor rock!
